There are two channels of access to obtain the designation: learn with the CAEŽ courses or, if you're a seasoned not-for-profit sector executive, submit a portfolio for Prior Learning Assesment Recognition (PLAR). To Achieve the Designation Through the CAEŽ Courses You Must:
- have at least five years experience in association management or two years and a university degree
- complete the five CAEŽ courses
- successfully write the CAEŽ exam
- be a member of CSAE
- agree to comply with CSAE's Code of Conduct
or
To Achieve the Designation Through the PLAR Channel You Must:
have at least ten years of experience in association management
submit a portfolio of prior learning for evaluation by a panel of Certified Association Executives successfully complete any additional steps the panel requires (e.g. challenging the CAEŽ examination, completion of a Self-Directed Online Tutorial or CAEŽ course, etc.)
be a member of CSAE
agree to comply with CSAE's Code of Conduct
